My oldest friend and sometimes co-writer, John Kurhajetz and I were driving back from a High School Reunion and came up with this. It started out to be a spoof but turned in a darker direction.

Most likely to succeed is pumping gas out on the thruway
Countin’ headlights on the highway in the cool, September rain
Most likely to succeed has given up on dreaming
And starting to believe there’s no one left to blame

In the high school yearbook, underneath my picture
The words were there for everyone to see
Selected by his classmates by unanimous prediction
